Stories about water and empowerment

THE TASK

The Austrian Red Cross – together with partner organizations – is running a programme focused on WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) activities in east africa: Skybird. As a WASH volunteer and communications delegate, I was asked to join two communications delegates of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society to document projects in Ethiopia, and hold media engagement workshops for local volunteers.

THE RESULT

Besides holding two full-day workshops on storytelling with mobile phones, I created photo and video material about seven of the microprojects in Ethiopia, aimed at back-donors, as well as for internal and fundraising use.
